Adrienne + Jason: a preppy beachy engagement shoot

Adrienne writes, " Our wedding date is July 28, 2012! We wanted to have our photos taken near the beach because it represents where we are in our lives right now. As northern natives, we moved to Jacksonville a little over a year ago and truly love living near the water and having year-round nice weather. We spend most of our weekends at the beach with friends relaxing, playing beach volleyball and enjoying the sun! In addition, Jason proposed on the pier in Jacksonville Beach at sunset and we wanted to keep with the theme of our engagement story. When we look back on our photos, we'll always remember spending our engagement and wedding planning days in Florida. We went to high school and Penn State University together and were always good friends, but not the kind of friends who hung out with each other on a regular basis. After college, we kept in touch, as Adrienne moved to New York City and Jason rotated within Johnson & Johnson to a job in New Jersey. Jason began coming into the city more frequently on the weekends and would always call Adrienne to go out with he and his friends. It wasn't long before they were spending every weekend together in Adrienne's tiny apartment in Sunnyside, Queens or at Jason's house in Princeton, NJ. About a year later, they moved to Florida together- the end of the story is on Adrienne's left hand!

Alex was recommended to us by Sophia and Hap Almy who worked with her for their engagement and wedding photos. After looking at the rest of her albums on Facebook and on her website, we decided she was the best photographer for the job. Her location selection and ability to capture a moment as it is happening were the main reasons why we selected her. We would definitely recommend Alex to our friends who want to have engagement photos taken. She was fun to work with and we were very pleased with our photos!

The best part was that Alex made it easy for us to relax. Adrienne was super nervous (who knows why!) during the days leading up to the shoot and during the first few shots. Alex stressed the importance of looking natural and not posed and after a few minutes, we were snapping pictures like she wasn't even there. She was also able to position us and recommend poses so that the natural lighting looked stunning in the photos."
