It has been really special watching Beth + Tim grow in their lives over the years. I first met these two when they were simply boyfriend and girlfriend. Beth contacted me in 2010 for a family session to surprise her mom for her 50th birthday and they wanted to have a family session to remember it by. I was so excited to meet this family at Memorial Park, Jacksonville and I knew then and there we had all formed such a special bond. I was ecstatic when I heard that Tim proposed to Beth later in 2011 and that I would be the one to shoot their engagement and wedding in 2012. Then, only a few months later, I caught wind that these two were expecting and I couldn't have been happier for them!
Beth and I decided we wanted to do a "grow with me" type package where I would document their first year of life together with baby: maternity, birth day, newborn, and monthly sessions and it all began with this little guy- their gender reveal party. Gender reveal parties are such a COOL idea! Not sure what a gender reveal session is? Well! Basically an expecting couple goes to the doctor for their gender reveal and they have the results sealed into an envelope. Then the fun begins! By handing over the results to a bakery, they have the baker make a cake with blue or pink inside the middle for the grand reveal! When the couple cuts into it, them and everyone else, finds out what they are having- boy or girl! What's also fun about these parties are the games associated with them. Usually they will have "team pink" or "team blue" buttons or pins for their guests to guess! It's always so much fun! I just love how everyone gets together to celebrate the revealing of this new little member! It makes it all so much more exciting.
Beth and Tim just built and bought their house so it was the perfect backdrop and host for their event. With just a few close family members and me, how lucky I am, we all witnessed the unveiling of Baby Young. I just LOVE the excitement over their faces when they found out if their baby was a sir or lady. It honestly makes me tear up seeing it because it's just so special for them to have that moment captured to look back on forever. This is what makes my job so rewarding! I get to be their little story-teller. Take a peek at this gorgeous photo journalistic session of Beth and Tim's first born! Feel free to pin these images for inspiration. These two did a great job with decor and planing! :)
P.s- how cute is their Anthropologie tablecloth and old school 1960's phone? :)
