Simple & sweet. That's how I like it! Gone are the days of needing several different locations, outfits, props and elaborate detail to document the thing our clients want; candid portraits of being in love. I think over time my work get's simpler and easier to the eye, between the posing and editing, it's a more unfussy process all around that I am really growing fond of. I don't take on as many weddings/sessions as I use to and this allows me to really get to know the people who entrust in me as their personal story-teller. I am happiest this way! As some of you know I did a BIG change for my business and switched camera brands. I was a loyal Nikon shooter for 5 years! But with the release on the D800 and my not so amused feelings towards it, I felt it was time to "try" this new Canon Mark iii. And that I did. What started as just another camera to use as a backup became my instant love obsession. It's an INCREDIBLE camera that screams effortless. My raw images are practically perfect, always creamy and as close to a film look as possible. This allows me to return work so much quicker than I ever use to (under 2 weeks for weddings and under 5 days for sessions!). And that makes my clients VERY happy. And honestly, that's all I care about.
Photography banter aside, this was a really special for me to shoot. I have known Caroline since our college days at JU. I have had the privilege of shooting some of her JU comrade's weddings and FINALLY it's her turn! The day we finally could take this session it was COLD (40 degrees!) for Florida standards. But these guys were such troopers and kept being adorable, which of course makes my job easy. I get so lost in shooting I don't even know it's a job, it'll never get old... this business is the sweetest blessing to my life. Ahh...I am such a side-tracker! We started at the gorgeous and newly renovated Friendship Fountain in downtown Jacksonville and had fun battling the wind and tourists! But you embrace it and love it nonetheless. I just loved the creamy tones of the overcast day and that striking Jacksonville skyline! We ended the session at the historic Treaty Oak Park! Their session was intimate and totally romantic. After reviewing their gallery Caroline emailed and texted me so many beautiful "thank-you's" and even told me their moms cried seeing their images. Success! :)
Enjoy Caroline & Jeff, I cannot wait for your wedding at One Ocean this spring!
(BIG thank you to Kimtasha for beautifying my girl!)
